About us

K.Y.M. is a not-for-profit community organisation that has, for many years, been a leading provider of a wide range of programs and services focused on improving people’s capacity to obtain sustained employment or engage in further education and training.

People giving the thumbs up.

A question asked by many is ‘What does the name K.Y.M. mean?’

The answer is simple. The initials represent the 3 Local Government Areas in which the organisation originated – Knox, Yarra Ranges and Maroondah.

Until 1998, 3 different organisations had serviced each of these Areas. On amalgamation, the name was chosen to reflect the wider reach of the new entity.

Since then, K.Y.M. has been active in communities across Melbourne and beyond.

K.Y.M. now delivers programs and services in Bayswater, Ringwood, Camberwell, Box Hill, Geelong, Rushworth, Violet Town and Kinglake.

Vocational Training and Youth Support Programs are our core business and each year we assist people to identify and access their best options for successful transition to employment, training or further education.

K.Y.M. has firm partnerships with a range of like-minded organisations including Anglicare, Migrant Information Centre, Youth Connect,  Encompass Community Servces, Workbridge Employment and Training, Monkami Centre and Interchange Outer East.

People enjoying learning.

Whether you’re a young person confused about career choices or an adult seeking the best means for a return to work, you’ll find at K.Y.M. a willingness to listen and to explore with you the options we and others can offer.

We’ve spent many years helping people to achieve their goals.

Their successes demonstrate the value of the services and assistance we can provide to you.
