K.Y.M. (Victoria) Inc. has been successful in securing a Youth Connections contract in the Local Government Areas of Manningham, Monash and Whitehorse.

A consortium to deliver the program includes K.Y.M. (Victoria) Inc., Anglicare Victoria and the Migrant Information Centre East Melbourne (MICE).

K.Y.M. (Victoria) Inc. is also in a consortium with Youth Connect to deliver the Youth Connections contract in the Local Government Areas of Port Phillip, Stonnington and Boroondara.

K.Y.M., Anglicare Victoria, the Migrant Information Centre and Youth Connect are all not-for-profit organisations that specialise in providing career and transition support to young people, parents, schools, industry and the wider community. Each organisation has a long history of providing youth services in the region.

What is the Youth Connections Program?
The Youth Connections program is funded by the Commonwealth of Australia as represented by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and targets ‘at risk’ young people aged 13 – 19 years.

What is the Purpose of the Youth Connections Program?
The purpose of the Youth Connections program is to provide an improved safety net for young people who have disengaged from education, or are at risk of disengaging, through the provision of tailored case management and support to help young people to re-connect with education, employment or training and build resilience, skills and attributes that promote positive life choices and wellbeing.

Who can the Youth Connections Program Help?

  • Young people who are in school and who are at imminent risk of disengaging, or have recently disengaged (within the last 3 months) from school or another education environment.
  • Young people who are severely disengaged from schoool, education, training or work, family and community. It is expected that these young people have not attended school for at least 3 months.
